For all shipments to Burundi an ELECTRONIC CARGO TRACKING NOTE (ECTN) / BORDEREAU ELECTRONIQUE DE SUIVI DES CARGAISONS (BESC), also named cargo waiver, is mandatory. ECTN/BESC numbers have to be mentioned on the Bills of Lading and manifests. The ECTN/BESC has to be issued at the loading port. Cargoes arriving without validated ECTN/BESC will be blocked for clearance and delivery and risk penalties.
