A CTN/ACD (Cargo Tracking Note / Advanced Cargo Declaration), also known as a cargo waiver, is mandatory for all shipments to Liberia (including transit cargo). The CTN must be arranged by the exporter or his agent (freight forwarder) in the loading port/country of origin. Incoming cargo without a valid CTN, or with incorrect data in the CTN, incurs fines from the relevant authorities in Liberia. The CTN must have been approved at least 5 days before the arrival of the cargo.
Required documents and information:
- Copy bill of lading
- Commercial invoice, depending on delivery conditions, with separately stated FOB goods value, ocean freight costs, insurance costs (otherwise an additional ocean freight invoice or ocean freight declaration is required)
- Export customs document
- Country of Origin
